Dry seasons

The best time recommended for safaris is during the dry seasons.

Weather:
Dry and sunny, with minimal rainfall.
Months:
December to February and June to August.
Wildlife Viewing:
Excellent. Animals congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot.
Activities:
Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are ideal during these months as trails are less muddy. Game drives in national parks like Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, and Kidepo Valley offer great chances to see big game. Birdwatching is superb, with resident and some migratory birds present.
Advantages:
Easier travel and navigation due to good road conditions. Fewer mosquitoes, making it more comfortable for visitors.

Wet seasons

With simple words, the green season, the time when the nature is thriving.

Weather:
Rainy, with occasional downpours, but also sunny intervals.
Months:
March to May and September to November.
Wildlife Viewing:
Still good, though animals may be more spread out.
Activities:
Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are possible, but trails can be muddy, adding an adventurous challenge. Birdwatching is exceptional, especially with migratory species from Europe and North Africa. The landscape is lush and vibrant, making for stunning photography.
Advantages:
Lower tourist numbers, leading to more intimate experiences. Off-season rates for accommodation and tours. Perfect for nature enthusiasts who enjoy green, verdant scenery.

Planning Your Trip

We know that plans can change! You’re welcome to update your booking—activities can be removed up to 30 days before check-in with a full refund. After that, refunds for pre-booked activities won’t be possible. If your group decides to add activities, you can do so directly at the lodge or through your driver, but we suggest booking early to guarantee availability. The lodge will handle any payment adjustments or refunds, and you can always reach us at team@ganzaadventure.com if you need assistance.

To provide the best possible experience, most activities and transportation are currently assigned by our local partners based on scheduling and availability to ensure your itinerary runs smoothly.

Our team and your guides can help recommend the ideal timings for each activity and how to arrange them in your itinerary for the best experience. Depending on the length of your trip, we suggest leaving the exact timing of each activity flexible to decide as you go.

We know that plans can change. If you need to adjust or cancel your booking, simply contact us at team@ganzaadventure.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate. In general, the cancellation policy depends on the amount of time remaining to the start of your trip. You can review our full cancellation policy in our Terms & Conditions.

Our offerings are always growing! If there’s a specific lodge, activity, park, or destination missing from our selection, just let us know. We’ll do our best to include it or recommend a fantastic alternative that fits your idea of the perfect safari.

Park fees are the tickets required to enter each park or conservancy, and the rules vary depending on the park. Some must be purchased in advance, while others can be paid at the gate. If you’d like to keep your plans flexible, feel free to ask us—we’ll let you know if advance purchase is necessary. Unfortunately, these fees are fixed, so we cannot offer discounts. But we also do not earn any commission from them.

We don’t offer international flights on our platform for a simple reason: you can often find and book them at better prices elsewhere. At ganzaadventure.com, we focus on the aspects of your trip that are harder to plan and book, ensuring the process is as seamless as possible.

While we strive to offer competitive rates, we can’t promise the lowest prices. We’re upfront about the fact that contacting local operators directly may yield cheaper packages. However, booking with ganzaadventure.com ensures you’ll benefit from services provided by our vetted and trusted partners, clear transparency on the cost breakdown of your trip, and a seamless booking and payment process—something many local operators can’t offer. Our focus is on providing convenience and transparency so that you can concentrate on enjoying this beautiful country without worries!

All visitors to Uganda that require entry visas are required to apply and obtain them up to a maximum of three months in advance of arrival into the country via the on-line application service on the following link: https://visas.immigration.go.ug/ . If you need help with your visa application do not hesitate to contact us at team@ganzaadventure.com. For a small fee we can arrange the visas for you. Talk to us if you wish to use this service!

All passengers traveling to Uganda require a Yellow Fever Certificate to enter, but if you have had the injection before and still have the certificate then you are covered. You don’t need to have the booster injection. The certificate of vaccination against yellow fever is valid for the life of the person vaccinated. This lifetime validity applies automatically to all existing and new certificates, beginning 10 days after the date of vaccination.

The Ugandan Shilling is used in Uganda, although US dollars or Euro are generally accepted. Please ensure that you don’t have US dollars / Euro notes prior to 2006 and the notes are not damaged or cut in any way as they are not accepted. There are ATM machines in all big cities which accept most international bank cards and Visa. It is important that you know what your daily withdrawal limit is. For a fee we can arrange for you to exchange your local currency to Ugandan Shillings on your first day. Talk to us if you wish to use this service!

When traveling to Uganda, you have several options for staying connected: - Local SIM Cards: You’ll need a copy of your passport and possibly a passport-sized photo to register the SIM. - eSIMs: If your phone supports eSIM technology, you can purchase a prepaid eSIM online before arriving in Uganda. - International Roaming: Check with your home service provider if they offer roaming packages for Uganda. - Wi-Fi Availability: A lot of places provide free Wi-Fi, but speeds may vary, especially in rural areas. - Portable Wi-Fi Hotspots: These can be loaded with data plans for consistent internet access, even in remote areas. For a fee we can arrange for you to get as many portable Wi-Fi hotspots as you need upon your arrival. Talk to us if you wish to use this service!

We strongly recommend a Travel Protection Plan offered by insurance agencies. For one low per-person price, you can buy peace of mind and keep your trip stress-free. Ask your travel counsel about it at the time of booking a safari.

Lodges & Accommodation

The accommodation options include lodges in the budget, mid-range and high-end categories. You can make your choice during your booking.

A safari lodge is a nature-focused accommodation near wildlife-rich areas, offering a blend of comfort, modern facilities, eco-conscious design, and access to safari activities such as game drives and guided walks.

Absolutely! Safari accommodations prioritize safety, often featuring security measures such as fences, night guards, and protocols for wildlife encounters. If you specifically prefer a fenced lodge, please let us know when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Most high-end and mid-range lodges provide electricity, usually through solar power or generators. Budget lodges may use lanterns or have limited generator hours. In more remote areas, lodges may not offer 24-hour electricity and may turn off their generators between midnight and dawn or while guests are on game drives. If you need 24-hour electricity, please specify this when booking, and our team will assist you accordingly.

Most mid-range and high-end lodges offer Wi-Fi, though it is often limited to common areas and may be slower in remote locations.

This depends on your group size. For a small group (up to 4 people) accommodation can be booked in a short notice offering more flexibility. For larger groups it is recommended to book 3 months in advance if you plan traveling during the low season and 6 months in advance during the high season. High seasons are from Dec - Feb and Jun - Aug, while low seasons are from Mar - May and Sep - Nov. In general, though, we will try to accommodate all requests. Just talk to us.

No. After receiving your booking request, our local partners have 24 hours to confirm availability or provide an alternative option.

Yes - all partner lodges have bathrooms in the rooms.

Usually our bookings include full board i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner. If anything else is the case it will be clearly stated in your itinerary.
