Terms and Conditions

Please quote the tour number or the specialized itinerary of the client, intended date for arrival and departure, number of people traveling in the party, sleeping arrangements and flight details, if known. This will ensure that our arrangements are to your satisfaction and concise.

Gorilla permits should be booked and paid for at least 2 months in advance. Children under 12 are not allowed to track chimpanzees and children under 15 are not allowed to trek the gorillas.

A deposit of 50% of the total tour cost is due once your booking is confirmed. The remaining 50% is due no later than 60 days before your departure date. Bookings confirmed within 60 days of departure are payable in full. If you change your itinerary after booking, we will send you an updated quote before anything is confirmed, so you always know the new total in advance.

Once a tour is booked with Ganza Adventure and a deposit is paid, this is a sign of your willingness to utilize travel arrangements and accommodation which we reserve on your behalf. Should the client cancel the holiday, then you must put it in writing, and all cancellations are subject to a certain charge based on cancellation fees levied by hotels, lodges and banks as follows:

• More than 60 days before departure: loss of the initial deposit (50% of the total tour cost).
• 30 to 60 days before departure: 60% of the total tour cost.
• 15 to 29 days before departure: 80% of the total tour cost.
• 14 days or fewer before departure, including no-shows: 100% of the total tour cost; no refund.

• Permits and park fees purchased on your behalf are non-refundable once issued. This includes gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits in Uganda and national park, conservation area, and activity fees in Tanzania, because the issuing authorities do not refund them.
• If you postpone your trip to a definite new date within 12 months of the original departure date, no cancellation fee applies, subject to availability and any price changes for the new dates. Permits and park or conservation fees already purchased are non-refundable and cannot be moved unless the issuing authority allows it. Any difference in fees or rates for the new dates is payable by you. Postponements beyond 12 months, or to no definite date, are treated as a cancellation under the schedule above.
• We reserve the right to deduct all expenses incurred from any money paid.

Park entry, conservation, permit and activity fees are set by the relevant authorities, including the Uganda Wildlife Authority, Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and the bodies responsible for protected sites in Zanzibar. These fees are passed on without markup. If an authority changes a fee after your booking is confirmed, we will tell you promptly, explain the difference in writing, and add only that official difference to your balance.

Ganza Adventure reserves the right and shall be entitled to cancel any tour or product sold prior to departure. Ganza Adventure shall be obligated to refund all amounts received by it and the client, who shall have no further claim of any nature whatsoever against Ganza Adventure arising out of such cancellation.

Should a client fail to join a tour or fail to use the accommodation or services booked by Ganza Adventure on their behalf, for any reason whatsoever, no refund or liability will be accepted by Ganza Adventure.

Mode of transport utilized will be dependent on the number of clients and the route taken based on the specifications of the chosen itinerary.

Fully trained and experienced English-speaking driver/guides are provided.

Where an itinerary includes scheduled domestic flights, flight times, routes and aircraft are set by the airline and may change at short notice, including because of weather. When we book flights on your behalf, we act as agent for the airline and the airline's conditions apply. International flights are not included unless stated.

Itineraries feature specific properties as our standard selection for each category. While we always aim to confirm the properties advertised, availability at the time of booking may require substituting a lodge of equivalent category, standard and location.

Based on twin bedded rooms or tents with private bathrooms where possible. Single rooms may be available with the payment of a supplement fee but not always be guaranteed. Some facilities have available double beds upon request.

Medical and repatriation insurance is compulsory for all safari bookings and is the client's responsibility. Cover for activities at high altitude, such as hiking in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains, is recommended where relevant. Visitors to Zanzibar must also hold the mandatory local travel insurance policy required by the Zanzibar authorities. It must be purchased before travel and does not replace medical and repatriation insurance. Current costs and requirements may change, so check the official requirements before departure. We also strongly recommend cover for trip disruption, emergency accommodation and lost baggage.

All baggage and personal belongings are at all times at the passenger's own risk.

Services on the ground in Uganda and Tanzania, including transport, guiding, accommodation and activities, are provided by licensed local operators. Ganza Adventure acts as agent for these operators, as set out in the liability clause below.

All bookings are accepted on the specific condition that Ganza Adventure and its local partners act only as agents of the passengers in all matters relating to hotel/lodge accommodations, tours, transport etc. Ganza Adventure shall not be liable for injury, personal illness, loss or damage to a person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from act of God, detention, annoyance, delays, expenses arising from quarantine, strikes, thefts, pilferage, force majeure, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, terrorism, government restrictions or regulations and discrepancies or changes in hotel services where Ganza Adventure has no control. Ganza Adventure reserves the right to employ sub-contractors to carry out all or part of the services agreed to be supplied. Ganza Adventure's liability to passengers carried in its own vehicles is governed by the respective laws of the country. Ganza Adventure cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to baggage.

Ganza Adventure provides clients with travel and or other services either itself or acting as agents or principals engaged in or associated with the travel industry, such as airlines. Ganza Adventure Ltd represents such principals as agents only and accordingly accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury or death which any client may suffer as a result of any act or omission on the part or the failure of such principals to fulfill their obligations, whether in relation to travel arrangements, accommodation or otherwise. The contract in use by such principals (which is often constituted by the tickets issued by the principal), shall constitute the sole contract between the principal and any right of recourse the client may have will be solely against such principal.

It is recorded that the contract may contemplate tour or journey to an area(s) where the client may be exposed to danger and the client has agreed to execute a waiver of rights against Ganza Adventure Ltd, its principals and others have an integral part of these terms. The client (which shall be deemed to include the heirs, executors, administrators or assigns of the client) does hereby irrevocably waive and abandon all and whatsoever nature and howsoever arising which may be sustained directly or indirectly by the client in consequence of any act of omission or commission by Ganza Adventure Ltd or other in consequence of the conclusion of the contract and the client undertaking the tour/journey contemplated in the contract (which will comprise of these terms and the booking confirmation form). In no way derogating from the foregoing, the client hereby indemnifies, holds harmless and absolves Ganza Adventure Ltd, its principals or others, from all and whatsoever claims which may be tenable by the client as aforesaid, irrespective of the nature thereof and howsoever arising.

Once your booking is confirmed, your price is locked. The only exceptions are changes you request after booking—for example, adding nights, changing accommodation, or adding activities—and changes to official park, conservation, or permit fees made by the authorities. If an authority changes its fees after confirmation, we will tell you promptly and explain the difference in writing.

Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. A gorilla permit allows you to join a guided trek but does not guarantee that gorillas will be in plain sight. In Tanzania, the timing and location of the Great Migration depend on rainfall and grazing, and neither the herds' location nor a river crossing can be guaranteed.

Clients must comply with all vaccination, health, visa, and entry requirements applicable to their nationality, routing, and itinerary. Requirements differ between destinations and may change without notice. For example, a yellow fever certificate may be required for entry to Tanzania depending on where you arrive from, travelers to Tanzania need a Tanzanian visa (the East Africa Tourist Visa covers Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda but not Tanzania), and Zanzibar requires its own travel insurance. Ganza Adventure Ltd may provide general guidance, but each client remains responsible for confirming and meeting the current official requirements for every destination and transit point.

The client must comply at all times with Ganza Adventure Ltd's instructions and with the rules of every applicable governmental, immigration, national-park, wildlife, conservation, and tourism authority in each destination visited. The client must not behave in a way that constitutes a nuisance or danger to any other traveler.

When the client is travelling with persons under his/her authority, he/she warrants that he/she is authorised to bind every member to the terms of the contract.

These terms constitute the entire terms of the relationship between the parties. There exists no other term, conditions, warranties, representations, guarantees, promises, undertaking or inducements of any nature whatsoever regulating the relationship, and the client acknowledges that he/she has not relied on any matter or thing on behalf of Ganza Adventure Ltd or otherwise that is not included herein.

Clients who have special requests must specify such requests to Ganza Adventure Ltd in writing when booking. Whilst Ganza Adventure Ltd will always endeavor to accommodate such requests, it does not guarantee that it will always be possible.

No amendment cancellation or waiver of any term or right referred to herein shall be valid or binding unless reduced to writing and signed by both the client and a duly authorised representative of Ganza Adventure Ltd.

Ganza Adventure Ltd will under no circumstances be liable for any claim whatsoever, unless such claim is due to gross negligence of Ganza Adventure Ltd and such claim is lodged in writing with Ganza Adventure Ltd within fourteen (14) days after the end of the tour. Such liability will be subject to a limitation of €1000 per client and under no circumstances will Ganza Adventure be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

Ugandan law and Jurisdiction of Uganda courts will govern the relationship between the client and Ganza Adventure Ltd.

The client will be liable for all legal fees on an attorney and own client scale in the event that Ganza Adventure Ltd has to engage a lawyer to enforce any of its rights or otherwise.

All agents should ensure that their clients or any guide employed by them fully understands the full itinerary and carries a copy for confirmation of activities.

On advancement of a deposit to Ganza Adventure, the depositor agrees to be bound by the above terms and conditions.
