Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti National Park
Zanzibar Island
Twelve days that go deeper than a typical safari — starting with two nights immersed in Maasai culture at the foot of Kilimanjaro, then following the classic northern circuit through the Ngorongoro Crater and three full nights in the Central Serengeti tracking the Big Five, before closing with four nights on Zanzibar's white-sand coast. Along the way, real community encounters — a Maasai homestead, a walking safari with local guides, conversations with Arusha's own entrepreneurs — sit alongside the wildlife and the beach.

Departure
Set on the Maasai steppe between Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, this part of northern Tanzania offers a genuine cultural counterpart to the wildlife circuit ahead. Guests spend time with the Maasai community through a walking safari, crafting alongside Maasai women, a visit to a local school, traditional spear throwing, and storytelling and ceremonial dance around the fire. On the way to Karatu, a stop in Arusha introduces local entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Its fertile crater floor supports a permanent, high-density population of wildlife — prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, elephants, zebras, Thomson's gazelles, and spotted hyenas roam freely, while the elusive Black Rhino gives visitors a genuine shot at completing the Big Five. Hundreds of bird species gather around the crater's small lakes, and the surrounding rim offers breathtaking views over this natural amphitheater of wildlife.
The Serengeti is Africa's ultimate safari destination, its name meaning “endless plains” in the local language — and with 14,763 km² of savanna stretching to the horizon, it lives up to it. The Central Serengeti's Seronera Valley is famed for prime, year-round wildlife viewing: lion, leopard, cheetah, and hyena hunt across open grassland dotted with granite outcrops, while giraffe, impala, waterbuck, buffalo, and elephant gather along its network of rivers and streams. It's also home to part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and has featured in countless wildlife documentaries.
Off Tanzania's coast in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar is a world away from the savanna: white-sand beaches, turquoise water, and the winding coral-stone streets of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site shaped by centuries of Swahili, Arab, Persian, and European history. Stone Town's sights include Christ Church (Anglican) Cathedral, built on the site of the old slave market, the Sultan's Palace, the Old Fort, and the famous hand-carved Zanzibar doors, alongside bustling spice and produce markets. Beyond the town, the island's east coast is lined with resort beaches ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving, with excursions on offer to Prison Island and the Jozani Forest, home to the rare red colobus monkey.
